did you know about the week between worlds?🌎
Light is a crop we harvest and every June, nature gives us its richest yield.
The Summer Solstice has passed, but summer has not yet fully unfolded. July and its celebrations await us, making this week of in-between one of the year's greatest gifts. Light itself becomes something we linger in.
This week is one our ancestors celebrated as a sacred threshold believed by Celtic tradition to mark a time when the veil between worlds was thin. Our world and the world of imagination, intuition, and mystery were thought to be unusually close.
They lit bonfires to echo the sun's strength, protect the harvest, and welcome a prosperous season ahead. Today we loosen our routines, lite fireworks, gather with friends, and welcome new possibilities.
Whether or not we believe these ancient stories literally misses the point. Our ancestors understood something we are still learning. Human beings need thresholds. We need moments that invite us to imagine lives larger than the ones we are currently living.
We also stand at a generational threshold today. Artificial intelligence has arrived not simply as another technology but as a new landscape of hidden realms—like in the ancient stories.
It is a threshold of opportunity and it reflects the same timeless human impulse: to imagine what lies just beyond today's horizon.
Before summer carries us forward, we are invited to pause and ask where this year's light is leading us. Have our hopes drifted, or are they waiting to be claimed?
It is also a moment of extraordinary personal agency. There is still half a year to become who we hoped we would be.
