curiosity, beauty and our connection to freedom⛓
As nature begins again, something in us stirs. Turns out, we were born to be free and we insist on it.
We refuse to accept injustice and limitation as human conditions.
At the heart of one spring tradition that beautifully celebrates freedom is a powerful idea: freedom begins with questions.
The act of asking questions and allowing them are fundamental building blocks of liberty, making it cause for celebration.
Further, it’s our curiosity that makes freedom possible. We interrogate and reflect on what is, and imagine what might exist beyond what is given.
Freedom isn’t free… Our freedoms are won by way of a wilderness where we endure an uncertainty that asks us to grow, stretch, and redefine ourselves.
I’m writing about this because freedom is made or lost in the small things. Check your history if you don't believe me.
Small acts of skincare through touch, attention, and time return us to ourselves and reconnect us with what is real—our bodies, our senses, our presence. This is where beauty does freedom’s work.
We need beauty’s sustenance for these experiences of reflection, navigation and survival. Transformation happens this way—not all at once, but with each small act building forward momentum.
Again and again, beauty meets us with small mercies, unexpected openings, quiet forms of support that carry us forward—even when we don’t fully understand how.
So wherever you find yourself this season, make space for the questions, follow your curiosity, and go for freedom.
Take care of yourself as if it matters—because it does.
